3 Paw Paw Indian Banana Trees - 8-12" Tall Seedlings - Live Plants - Asimina triloba
For sale are 3 tubelings that are 8-12 inches tall. These plants are grown rapidly in a greenhouse in plastic "plug" containers, and at the age of 3 months are as big and strong as a field-grown plant a year old. The pawpaws will need transplanting to a gallon or "tree band" or directly to the landscape depending on season. Perhaps protect from deer.
Pawpaw (Asimina triloba) is a small deciduous tree native to the eastern United States. Pawpaw fruits are the largest edible fruit indigenous to the United States. (Not counting gourds.) The pawpaw is a patch-forming (clonal) understory tree found in well-drained, deep, fertile bottomland and hilly upland habitat.
Hardier than I first thought. Apparently hardy to Zone 4, and at the age of 3 months are as big and strong as a field-grown paw paws. They are grown from wild population seed collected from plants.
Each seedling therefor is genetically unique for cross-pollination requirements. Plant relatively close together, but don't have to be touching.
