American Hazelnut (Filbert) Tree - 18-24" Tall - Live Plant - Corylus americana

I am selling an American Hazelnut Tree. They are 18-24" in height.

The plant you receive has been grown outside, not in a greenhouse, and is dormant with no leaves.

This not a new seedling! This is a small tree, at least 1 ½ years old, with an established root system and a strong woody stem. You will receive one bare root tree packed in moist paper towels and secured in a plastic bag (see photo). The plant in the photo is not the exact plant you will receive, but it will be similar in size. Plant out or in a container immediately upon receipt and water as necessary. There is no guarantee of the successful growth of any tree, but proper care will ensure survival. 

These trees are grown outside, not inside a greenhouse. The may have slight insect or weather damage to the leaves, but all trees are healthy and already acclimated to outside conditions.

Corylus americana - American Hazelnut Tree - Great for wildlife food and habitat. Also known as American filbert, a tasty nut tree that provides nuts, prized by cooks for their easy to crack shells and small, sweet kernel. Squirrels love them as well. The American Hazelnut can be used as a shrub-like landscape plant or as a hedge. Likes well-drained, loamy soil, full sun or light shade. Grows to 18', 15' spread. (Plant two trees for pollination)

Hazelnut hedges can be used as windbreaks, visual screens and to attract wildlife.

Used in zones 3-9.

Rate-medium to fast. Full sun to partial shade.
