- Excellent summer juice orange
- Grafting: Grafted – Dwarfing Rootstock (US 897)
- Our trees are 26-30" tall and about one year old.
- We grow our trees in a 4 inch square pot that is 14" tall. The pot is equivalent to a “1 gallon” capacity. This “sleeve” is perfect for shipping because you get the entire root ball and soil rather than “bare root.” Getting the soil with the tree greatly increases your success with your new citrus tree.
- If temperatures are below 40°F between Florida and your location, I will recommend that we hold your order until the weather is warmer.
- If you choose to ship before the weather warms, we do not offer a warranty for freeze damage in this situation.
- We do NOT guarantee plants shipped during freezing weather and we do NOT offer refunds for freeze damage to your plants.
We CANNOT ship to CA, TX, LA, AZ due to federal agricultural restrictions
Dwarf trees are grafted onto a rootstock that limits the mature size of the tree to around 8 – 9 feet tall and wide compared to where standard rootstock trees will mature at between 12 – 15 feet tall and wide. The dwarf tree is also more suited to container growing because the rootstock will not outgrow the container as quickly as a standard grafted rootstock.
The kaffir lime tree is one of the most commonly planted trees in Thai gardens. The leaves and rind of the bumpy-skinned fruit are used to impart a unique, oily lime flavor, to curries, stir-fries, fresh salads, and, my favorite, Tom Yum with coconut milk soup. This is one powerful spice. Use the leaves and rind of the fruit very sparingly. Its strong flavor can overpower other more subtle ones in the dish, so finely chop the leaves into slivers or grate the rind and use a mortar and pestle to mix with the other herbs in the dish. Having many uses in Thai households besides cooking, its leaves are used to deodorize laundry and make shampoo. Useful for treatment of colds, congestion, and cough. Fruit ripens from October to March.
